Document Control training outline for Seniors and Lead Document Controllers

The Senior / Lead Document Control Training is an advanced-level professional development program designed for experienced document controllers transitioning to leadership and strategic roles. This 35 day intensive training focuses on governance, system administration, team management, and digital transformation within document control functions, particularly in complex Oil & Gas and engineering project environments.

The course covers strategic responsibilities, enterprise document control frameworks, advanced EDMS architecture and administration, ISO and regulatory audit leadership, performance management, vendor and interface management, project close-out excellence, and digital transformation. Through strategy sessions, case studies, system demonstrations, and workshops, participants learn to design governance models, lead audit processes, manage multi-project environments, and drive continuous improvement in document management systems.

Participants develop leadership capabilities for mentoring teams, managing stakeholder interfaces, and implementing automation and AI solutions. The program includes an optional capstone workshop where participants design a document control framework for a major project and present to a mock management panel, with advanced practical assessment leading to a Senior/Lead level certificate of completion.
